mable soe | portraiture

Hello! I guess we’ve missed quite a number of occasions recently! Well, let’s see what we’ve missed… Starting with the Chinese New Year : Happy (belated) Chinese New Year to everyone (especially those who celebrated it). Hope you all had a blast one and spent precious time with your loved ones!! Did you guys get a lot of hong baos?? =)

Oh anyway, while we were having a grilled WAGYU BEEF dinner with friends from Bandung at Robertson Quay just now, we witnessed colorful fireworks in the sky that came from China Town. We were wondering what we missed then before we realized that today is exactly the last day of the CNY celebration! So again, Happy “Cap Go Meh” to everyone!!

This time, I’d like to post up something different than what we normally do. Portraiture is one thing that we always loved and wanted to explore further but so far has always been neglected. Hopefully, we can shoot more of this kind in the near future. We attended a portraiture class conducted by our friend who happens to be known as ‘the portrait guy’, Ejun Low! Quite an interesting class and we learnt a lot from him, that’s for sure. The only one I wish to be different is for the practical session to be conducted in his studio instead of outdoor. These photos were shot during the practical session. Not the best of course, that’s why we would expect some critics and comments for us to improve… Cheers!

arlin and hans | surprise videos

Hi everyone! We’re finally able to upload the videos that we made for Arlin and Hans. yay! =)
We’re also excited to announce to you that Rey, the producer behind these videos, is our wagyu videographer =) Double Yay!

A quick intro, Sunday Luncheon is our hang out group name and we always meet up every Sunday for lunch and to play cards. This is what we put together for the couple and gave them as a surprise gift on their wedding day. The only video they knew about is the following childhood and engagement video. All quotes and poems are written by Arlin herself =) She’s an awesome writer, check her voices out here.

Happy 1st Birthday, Bryan!

Children are inheritance from God. Those are the words written on Bryan’s Noah’s Ark Cake. It’s really heartwarming to see that in everything this family do, they always thank God for their every blessings.

Henry was my senior back in San Jose and he was the one driving the “new kids” around, befriended them and bringing them to church. One of the “new kids” was me, and I’ve always treasure the friendships I’ve come across in San Jose. And I’m glad that we are still able to keep in touch after so long =)

A couple of weeks ago, Henry and Theresia’s son Bryan just turned 1. And they did a Noah’s ark theme. Birthdays are always an awesome way of gathering close friends and family to spend time with one another and simply enjoying each other’s company. I love everything about the party. The decorations were so colorful and creative, the games were so much fun, great food and of course… the cake! The cake was definitely my favorite!! Everyone had such an amazing time, as you’ll see… expressions don’t lie =)
