For those interested in fashion, look out for Florence Kurniadi. She is a young and energetic upcoming fashion couture designer who just came back from overseas. She has an impressive background in many fashion cities such as New York, San Francisco, Sydney, and Milan.

Her first collection is Sparkle & Glitz, which is also our first fashion project, was just launched recently. the wagyu story was honored to be the photographer to shoot both the portfolio and the runway. Her works are impressive, she is very detailed and her workmanship is exquisite. Check out her website and facebook. We’re sure you’re gonna be impressed, just like us =)

How’s everyone doing? Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Well, we’re supposed to post this in our blog a long time ago but we have been really busy lately. Apologize for that… This is one thing we’re both very proud of, because this is our first achievement together! =)

A few months ago, we entered the Audi photo competition for the launch of A3 Cabriolet. The adrenaline rush itself is amazing and to know that we were the runner up are even more satisfying. I still can’t believe we won! This is our winning photo…

Here’s a short story on how we managed to participate, did the preparation until the execution…

Tata told me that there’s gonna be an Audi Competition and asked me to submit 3 photos of my fashion/beauty shots to Audi Photography Group. A few hundred photos were submitted, but only 29 photographers were then chosen to create a LIFESTYLE image with the Audi A3 Cabriolet and thank God, I was chosen to be one of the 29 photographers.

So, each of the 29 photographers were given a competition time slots between 4pm to 11pm from 6th to 8th May; and 3pm to 11pm on 9th May and my time slot is Friday, 8th May from 10pm to 11pm, well, the reason I choose this time slot is that I wanna play with the lights at night and I thought that shooting cars at night would be a challenge… and my brother gave me this idea on having fluorescent lights placed all around the Audi to light up its details. After a realllly looooooooong discussions with tha, we decided to choose night time.

Tata came in to help me out and he took 2 hours time off from work to actually be there for me. He helped me set up, he helped me with all the technical details and the lighting and you could imagine…without good lighting…you can’t get a good shot of the car especially at night. I needed him near me throughout and whenever he stepped a little far…I would panic… that’s how important he is in making all of this happen…. (even Helen -our model- said…”Ci, I can see that u always panic when tata is not near you” hahahaha)

Special thanks to my parents and brother, for their unconditional love and support. My mom is amazing, before I left for Singapore she told me “The experience itself would be priceless. Don’t think about winning. You just do your best.” Also special thanks to Tata, this would not have happened without you. Helen, thank you sooo much for being my model =) Hanlin, Pa Jahja, Bu Yung2 & Tum for all of your help; Sheikha and Liew Tong Leng for documenting behind the scenes; Jeremy, the competition marshall, who has helped us calm our nerves down by turning up his Ipod in the A3 and thank you for telling me about how much time I had left. =)

The last time I went to Jakarta was about a year ago. I can’t believe how time flies and so many things have changed! One of them is that Plaza Indonesia has a new extension. So when my parents asked if I want to pick them up from the airport, I thought it’ll be a good chance for me to visit my cousin, Susanna, and have a cup of tea in her Macaroon tea room as well! The teas are exquisite and the macaroons are delicious! I love the Milo flavored macaroon. Oh, their healthy sweet potatoes chips are yummy too along with their fruits and vegetables dip. And don’t forget to try their new chai tea latte. Go and visit the tea room, I’m sure you’re gonna enjoy yourself.
