the wedding of Melvin and Vero

We’re blessed to be able to meet couples that have dated not only for a long period of time but also long distance. You see, at least we’re not alone =p

You might remember Melvin and Vero from their engagement session in Singapore that we posted a couple months back. Here they are finally saying “I really do”

To love someone is a blessing, to have them love you back is even a greater blessing.  Can you image what they have been through the 11 years they are together? A salute to Melvin and Vero for not only the ups and downs but also the fact that ½ of their dating period was spent long distance. Time is also a test of patience and definitely, certainty. And for that, they have become so sure of one another that when the pastor asked about how certain they are on marrying each other, they both said “I am most definitely sure”.

And when the pastor asked Melvin on what criteria he looks for in a wife.. Melvin simply answered that Vero is the criteria… that answer touched our hearts ♥

Their wedding was decorated with a gorgeous combination of yellow and black. And Vero put it a lot of details for the wedding. She took care of everything from her bouquet, to the boutonnière to the celebration flags and the balloons and even the ribbons on the souvenir box. I got really excited when brides are detail oriented.  She even told us exactly how she wants their engagement photos to be presented.

Here’s some of our favorites… Enjoy…

P.s. to Melvin and Vero, have fun honeymooning, hope you have internet to view this =p

Melvin with the groomsmen getting ready together. Melvin especially have the groomsmen’s tie embroidered with each of their hobbies/liking, you’ll see them later towards the end of the blog =)

We mentioned that Melvin is not really camera friendly. But on the wedding day, you can see how truly happy Melvin by the look of his face! He was smiling the whole time! =D

One of the many things in common we guess =p

Milky loveeeeees to be pampered… Everyone just loves Milky. Love the red bow tie that Vero prepared for it.

The beautiful bridesmaids. Vero also prepared something personal for her bridesmaids… we’ll reveal them later =p

Here’s Vero’s parents and grandma.. you can see that gorgeousness is passed down from one generation to the next.. hehe

Melvin’s house is beautifully structured with linear wooden windows <3 we love it so much that we decided to have them take their family portrait near the window =) That’s Melvin’s parents and younger sister, Melvania.

Vero’s parents veiled her before walking down the aisle…

Upon entering the church, the pastor sprinkled holy water to the couple and their families.
In their church, it’s a tradition to walk down the aisle with your future husband, followed by the parents, witness and the rest of the wedding party.

The floral heart is actually their wedding ring pillow and the ribbons that you see hanging is where they placed the rings… gorgeous right?

This is when the Pastor asked them repeatedly if they are sure of one another… Hahaha

The pastor blessed the wedding rings before their vow

I love how elegant Vero looked, especially when she’s praying =)

Getting ready for releasing the balloons… love how everyone of their closed friends and families gathered for this!
We had a few minutes before they had to do their solemnization and tea ceremony, so we grabbed the chance to take a few couple shoots. By the way, that’s our photo wall! =D

Love how the sun shines on them perfectly

Introducing David, also known as James Bond.. Hahaha. David is Vero’s brother. I told him that he looked liked James Bond with his tux and bow tie. And I think he hides from me after this photo was taken. Hahaha

Vero’s sister, Stefanie. I envy how tall she is. =p Mmmm.. come to think of it…I wonder why most of my friends named Stefanie or Stephanie are tall….

Our slide card for Melvin and Vero put together with their wedding souvenir…

It’s sweet that Vero prepared each of her bridesmaid a bracelet of pearls =)

Here’s the ties I mentioned above. Can you see the embroidery? It’s beer, clothes, camera and a doggy =)

The multi layered cake that looks like lace was made to look like Vero’s wedding dress

A toast made by Dodo before CunCun gave Vero the surprise gift from the groomsmen…. a sexy secretary lingerie

The wedding kiss <3

One of Melvin and Vero’s tradition among their friends’s wedding is having an after party… so a DJ was called and alcohol was served….and served…

Hope you enjoyed the photos =)

zhi yuan & joyce | a simple yacht wedding

Hi Folks! I know it’s been a bit slow here on our blog, but if you’re a fan of our facebook page things are different over there. Yeah I have to admit we are neglecting our blog recently until some of our friends (who are not big fans of facebook) reminded us that they have been following our blog more than our facebook page. But the thing about facebook is we can gradually post photos which is quite ‘fun’ to do especially when we’re kinda ‘stuck’ with one job and need to refresh our minds and switch to the other one. And that, for sure is not gonna work for blog.

So here is something different to show you. I had a privilege to help my ex-company, Live!Studios when en-en and me were in Singapore 2 weeks ago. They were overbooked plus short of manpower (a normal thing to happen in Live!Studios), so they asked if I would be free to shoot a job for Truly Harmony – a Singapore based wedding planner which is specialized in yacht and green wedding. It was my first yacht wedding! I was excited and immediately took the job.

I never met Zhi Yuan or Joyce before their big day, but when I first met them I could tell how much love sparks between them.

Before the day, I spent some time googling other great photographers’ photos about yacht wedding and everyone has one thing in common – awesome sunset!!

That day, the weather was just ok, meaning to say there was no rain. However, the sky was cloudy ugly, grey and nothing fantastic.
Until finally the sun came out of nowhere and made it one of the best and most breathtaking sunset I’ve ever witnessed so far. And that…made my day!

Disclaimer: Again, although I took all the photos, they are copyrighted by Live!Studios.

melvin & vero | elegant with a vintage twist engagement

It’s a blessing to have loved and be loved for 11 years and a greater blessing to have that person not only as your best friend, but also your soul mate.

Vero heard about us through our good friend, Atep, and turns out she loves our work <3. The couple and Atep were from the same high school. It was said during high school Melvin used to make fun of Vero, but the teasing soon turned into love. When Vero introduced us to Melvin, turns out, Melvin is in the printing business. From then, we’ve both become clients and vendors =) The stories we heard from their 11 years relationship are quite funny. When Melvin went to US for his university, the one that cried when he left was Vero’s maid. Haha! This shows that not only they are close with one another, but with the whole household =D

During our meeting, I found out that we have a lot in common. Not only Vero loves everything vintage, she’s also a foodie. I still wonder how she manages to stay slim. Oh and her sense of style can be describe in only one word… Wow! Her dresses are all so gorgeous and they were either full of lace or have awesome embroidery work done on them. She’s also very talented, she did the make up and hair all on her own. We later found out that she also does Melvin’s styling. Awesome right? =)

Here’s some of our favorite from the session. Hope you enjoy them =)

Our day started from Botanic Garden in the morning. I still remember what kind of weather that day was, boy it was hot!! So hot that it’s very challenging to keep Melvin’s smile on his face:P

But hey, this what a sunny day is good for…flaresss =)

We went over to MBS for the night shots and man…do we fell in love with the view over and over again…

Special thanks to Ah Tan and Chris for your help =)
